Europe Triathlon

The European Triathlon Union (ETU) and the International Triathlon Union (ITU) hosted a youth and junior training camp named TRI ACROSS BORDERS in Boson-Stockholm, Sweden from 26th till 28th November 2010.

The training camp took place in Boson which is a Swedish national preparation center outskirts of Swedish capital Stockholm. Thirty athletes from 5 Baltic & Nordic countries trained for 3 days with their 8 coaches under the supervision of the expert Swedish coach Tomas Wiker and his assistant coaches.

ITU Sport Development Coordinator for Europe Zeljko Bijuk underlined:
“I believe this was the start of something which will become traditional gathering of young athletes and respective coaches from Baltic & Nordic countries trying to create a platform, for the athletes and coaches where they can network, share knowledge, train together as well as learn more about the sport.”

During the camp coaches had the parallel education workshop (LTAD and ITU Sport Development fundamentals) conducted by ITU Sport Development Coordinator Zeljko Bijuk with different tasks and finally delivering training sessions focusing on developing transition skills, open water swimming and running efficiency.
