Superb field in Geneva!

By World Triathlon Admin | 10 Aug, 2006

Just two weeks prior to the Triathlon World Championships, the ITU Geneva European Cup Triathlon serves as test for several elite athletes. At the feet of the celebrated water fountain and the panorama of the French Alps hundreds of spectators will cheer the 2000 Sydney Olympic Triathlon Gold medal winner Simon Whitfield (CAN), Bevan Doherty (NZL), silver medallist from the 2004 Athens Olympic Games and Swiss Miss Magali Di Marco Messmer, who won the bronze medal in the Sydney Games. But forget about the Aussies Felicity Abram, Erin Densham and Emma Moffat, Tony Moulai (FRA) Dan and Ran Alterman (ISR) and Andrea and Emilio DAquino as well as Alessandro Degasperi (ITA). The TIG (Triathlon International de Genve) serves also as Swiss Championships, so the winner of the Athens Bronze Medal, Sven Riederer, the vice World Champion from Gamagori 2005, Reto Hug, Didier Brocard, Christoph Mauch and Sibylle Matter will be part of the race action at the Geneva lakefront.
