Registration Extended for ETU Powerman European Duathlon Championships

By David Peddie | 07 Mar, 2013

The ETU can confirm that the registration deadline for the ETU Powerman European Long Distance and Sprint Distance Championships has been extended until March 18th.

Last year, the Long Distance and Sprint Distance Championships offered thousands of athletes the opportunity to participate in a European Championship and the inaugural event in 2012 was a huge success.

In order to create more opportunities for more athletes, and to grow the event, the decision has been made to extend the deadline for the 2013 competition.

The registration process remains the same and an application must first be made via the Powerman website, www.powerman.nl

On receiving the entry list, National Federations must then confirm to the ETU and the LOC who will compete at the European Championships. All other entries will compete in the open races.

Every participant in the Powerman will receive a special memento. Alongside European Championships medals, National Championship medals are available for the first three finishers in the elite category and in every age group. Elite athletes are also eligible for prize money.

The ETU Powerman European Long Distance Duathlon Championship competition will also act as a qualification event for the World Games in Cali, Columbia from July 25th to August 4th.

Besides the Long Distance Qualification event for Elite and U23 duathletes, there will also be a European Junior Championship for Junior athletes at the Sprint Distance.

Age Group athletes can choose between European Championships at both distances.

All events will take place on Sunday 21st April 2013.
