Katsianeu wins historic gold for Belarus

Mikita Katsianeu claimed a historic first gold medal for Belarus at the ETU European Junior Cup in Kupiskis.

Katsianeu’s victory was the highlights of an impressive performance by the Belarussian Junior Men with Henadzi Semashka and Mikita Bely finishing 4th and 5th.

Norway’s Morten Hansen finished second and there was huge celebrations amongst the home crowd as Tautvydas Kopustas (LTU) completed the podium.

In the Junior Women’s race, Sofiya Pryma (UKR) won her first ever European Junior title. Vilde Tengesdal (NOR) and Jeanine Kocken (NED) also claimed their first European medals with second and third place finishes respectively.
