Message from Gabriella Lorenzi (FITri):
Yesterday, 3rd January, at 17h00 the triathlon family lost a special friend, Italo Botter. After terrible hard days of his own war, he won the most important battle: say good-bye with the dignity of a man who loved the people and the life. We have to remember Italo for the courage through which he continued to be present with his joy of living and all his friends will continue to love him for the merit of talking with the heart.

Italo played a very important role in the history of the Italian Triathlon Federation for a long time. He was the Technical Delegate of several National and International events with high satisfaction of the athletes and officials.
He was very ill in the last year, but he was present in Palermo for the ITU European Cup last October and in Sweden on the ITU Technical Officials seminar. He believed till the last moment, so did we!
